Hopefully everyone will be able to find something they like in the 2012 campaign line-up. We've got William Shepherd's follow-up to Salamis, the recently renamed Nomonhan (formerly Khalkin Gol), a very often requested Napoleonic battle, and more World War II than you can shake a stick at!

Osprey Campaign 234

This book provides Bolt Action players with all of the information they need to field the military forces of Germany. Detailed army lists allow players to construct German armies for any theatre and any year of the war, including the early campaigns in Poland and France, the dusty tank war in the North African desert, the bloody battles on the Eastern Front, and the final defence of Normandy, occupied France and Germany itself. With dozens of different unit types including Fallschirmjager, Waffen-SS, and the dreaded Tiger tank, players can assemble a huge variety of troops with which to battle their opponents.

As the fight at LZ Albany was coming to an end, the ARVN II Corps Command decided to "finish off" the campaign by introducing the ARVN Airborne Brigade into the battlefield on November 17 with the establishment of a new artillery support base at LZ Crooks, secured by the 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry.[55] The 5-day B-52 airstrike operation were carried on for two more days: on November 19, the carpet bombing aimed at the positions of units of the 66th and 33rd Regiments;[56] and on November 20, units of the 32nd Regiment.[55] The ARVN Airborne Brigade pursued the two remaining 635th and 334th Battalions of the 320th Regiments[57] and executed two ambushes: the first on November 20 at the north side and the second on November 24 on the south side of the Ia Drang River.[58] On November 26, with no further contact, the ARVN withdrew from the area.[59]

As the outcome of the entire campaign, the ARVN claimed that the PAVN were unable to achieve their objectives of overrunning the camp and destroying the relief column at Plei Me, which is confirmed in the B3 Front commander's account,[29] as well as that the entire B3 Field Force strength had been wiped out and the survivors pushed over the Cambodian border.[64]

ww2dbaseAt an early stage an air-cooled diesel engine was specified. The Czech firm of Tatra (Ringhoffer-Tatra-Werke AG, Nesseldorf) were approached to produce a suitable motor. The result was a V-12 diesel engine with an output of 220hp, and the prototype of this was ready by the end of 1941. But development of the engine was slow and plagued with problems, so that by the time that the vehicle (standardised as the SdKfz 234/1 Schwere Panzerspähwagen (8-Rad)) went into mass production in July 1943 the North African campaign had been over for many months. Bussing-NAG were responsible for assembly, with the bodywork manufactured by Deutsche Edelstahlwerke of Krefeld and the turret by Daimler-Benz AG, Berlin-Marienfeld and F. Schichau of Elbing.

A recently completed study conducted by park biologists found a significant relationship between the declines in cutthroat trout and osprey reproduction at Yellowstone Lake. Recent increases in the number of young cutthroat trout caught by the Yellowstone fisheries program during the fall netting assessment are encouraging. An increase in cutthroat trout production may lead to an increase in nesting pairs of ospreys and improved nesting success at Yellowstone Lake. 2ff7e9595c
