As with my Windows Server 2003 Editions comparison, Microsoft also has its own table comparing the various Office 2003 editions, but that version is incomplete, hard to read, and poorly organized. So here is my own comparative set of tables, which I think you'll find to be much more readable and useful.

Note: Some Office 2003 applications are not available in any suite editions. These products include Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003, Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, Microsoft Office Publisher 2003 with Digital Imaging, Microsoft Office Project Standard Edition 2003, Microsoft Office Project Professional Edition 2003, Microsoft Office Visio Standard Edition 2003, and Microsoft Office Visio Professional Edition 2003.

After running the diagnostics, a results page will be displayed. After clicking continue, your web browser will load with Microsoft's recommendations for the next steps to resolve any discovered issues with Microsoft Office.

To enable Microsoft Office 2003 styles, add RWSetOfc2003Style (TRUE); in your main application class's InitInstance(). You must also include toolkit\ot_toolbar.h in your application's stdafx.h file to pick up the classes involved with this look-and-feel style. Theme colors will automatically update when you change the system theme via the OnSysColorsChange() call. Do not use this look-and-feel style in conjunction with the .NET/XP style, described in Section 5.3, "Visual Studio .NET/Office XP Style." You can either remove any previous RWSetDotNetStyle() or set it to FALSE.

Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 is a tool that can be used for managing your websites. It is a comprehensive HTML editor that has been developed by Microsoft which is considered as a software giant. FrontPage is specifically designed for Microsoft Windows operating system. It is a critical part of world acclaimed Microsoft Office suite. Though the program is discontinued now and has been replaced by Microsoft Expression Web which is a more comprehensive tool. But still FrontPage is a very productive tool and can be used for managing and creating webpages.

Using the Microsoft Office shared document management functionality, you can work with Word, PowerPoint, or Excel files in any space, including the Home space, from the task pane in the Office application. This functionality is available in Microsoft Office 2003 and later, when the backend content repository is Content Server.

To allow for full integration of Microsoft Office with Spaces, you must access the Spaces application through Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) to expose Content Server and the Spaces application under the same host and port. For information about setting up OHS as the front-end to Spaces, see "Content Server - Configuration" in Oracle Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide for Oracle WebCenter Portal.

Spaces integrates with the Microsoft Office shared document management functionality for working with Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files. This functionality is available in Microsoft Office 2003 and later, when the backend content repository is Content Server. For more information, see Section 46.1.1, "Understanding Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Integration."

On the Documents page or in a Documents service task flow, from the File menu or the context (right-click) menu, choose the Edit action that opens the file in-place in its Microsoft Office application. For example, for Microsoft Word files, choose Edit with Word (Figure 46-4)

I need the page number at the bottom of page one (have that) but at the top of the other pages. How do I do this? I have used the long method by Word: unchecking "different first page" on page one (checking it for other pages) and having it checked on second page/section. Also, "link to previous" is unchecked. But it will not allow me to (or does not show) page numbers from page 2 on. I attempt to "format page numbers" but nothing happens. On page one the header/footer reads (in light blue): Header-section 1 and Footer- Section 1On page two the header/footer reads (in light blue): First Page Header Section 2 and First Page Footer Section 2The "show field codes instead of their values" has been unchecked and the "Building Blocks.dotx " is not disabled.Response:I assume you have more than one page now. I assume you are on page 1. I assume you only have one section.Insert TabHeaderEdit HeaderPut cursor where you want your page number on following pages.Press the key combination Alt+Shift+P or click on the Page Number button, and select Current Position Plain Number. You now have page numbers in your headersCheck the box for "Different First Page"This makes what you just entered appear only on pages after the first one.Go to your First Page FooterPut cursor where you want your page number on the first page.Press the key combination Alt+Shift+P or click on the Page Number button, and select Current Position Plain Number. You now have a page numbers in your first page footer.(You could just type "1" instead.)Double-click in the document body to quit editing your headers and footers.More on headers - footers: See Sections, Headers and Footers for much more on using headers and footers and manipulation / use of Word sections.SeeLetterhead Template that lets you start letterhead from File Menu or QATSee Letterhead Textboxes and Styles Tutorial - two-page template download that demonstrates use of Textboxes in headers and footers to reserve space for preprinted letterheadStyles that are based on each other and use the style for following paragraph featureUse of the StyleRef field to insert information from the body of a letter into the continuation page headers automaticallyInsertion of a date automatically that will not change when you open the document at a later dateThe AutoText list restricted by styles for the salutation and closing.Insertion of the typist's name as signer automatically by accessing the Author document property.See also Chapter 19 in Microsoft Word 2010 Bible by Herb Tyson, MVP for info on Word 2007 and Word 2010The way to disable Same as Previous is to clickthe button in the Headers/Footers toolbar to turn it off. --And youhave to do it in the section following the one where you want to makea change. Moreover, it is independent for each header andfooter you have (so you have to do it separately for the odd and evenheaders). Also, if you need a header that begins on thesecond page of a section, use "Different first page" as well as"Different odd and even," then omit the text in the First PageHeader.Fields in headers and footers get updated on a differentschedule than do fields in the regular document. See the Microsoft KnowledgeBase article Q89953for more on this. The styles in headersand footers are named (coincidentally) "header" and"footer." If you want to change the formatting of your headers andfooters, start by modifying these styles. Since I usually use the same fonts andmargins in the footer as in the header, I generally have a "header"style based on [no style] that has a negative indent of .5 left and right andis in a font that is two points smaller than body text. I then modify the"footer" style to be based on the "header" style. If the AutoText bar on your Header / Footer toolbar doesn'thave any contents (or doesn't have the entries that you are expecting), thefirst thing to look at is the style of your paragraph. If it isn't"header" or "footer" your expected entries won't be therebecause this control is set to work with these styles. This control isessentially an AutoTextListfield and works the same way.
